Stephanía Vallejo
Senior Designer
Stephanía Vallejo, originally from Cali, Colombia, is a lighting and interior designer that sees light as a medium to recreate and create, believing in a holistic perspective to the inhabitant’s experience of space. She approaches every project as an opportunity to feel with all the senses; a tactile experience of space.
She earned her Bachelor's degree in fashion and textile design from Universidad Autonóma de Manizales in Colombia, from where she developed a passion for natural materials, textile properties, and the play of light and shadow within the garment. Her early explorations were translated into the built environment when she moved to NYC in 2013 and started working as interior designer in residential projects. It was during this time that she found a special interest in light, color, and texture in architecture.
She earned a Double Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design and Lighting Design at Parsons,The New School. In May 2021, she graduated with University Honors.
Stephanía joined Tirschwell & Co., Inc. during the summer of 2019 and has been involved in the design and project management of both high-end residential and commercial projects.
She finds inspiration in her daughter’s joy while in the outdoors. Independent of the design studio, she volunteers with special needs children with activities associated with her church congregation.
